How to care for your Liz Earle Jewellery

What is Gold Vermeil?

Pronounced ver-‘may’ it is layer of gold over a sterling silver base. Liz Earle Jewellery’s gold vermeil is 2.5 microns Fairtrade gold 23.8ct on a base of Fairtrade silver all from the Sotrami mine in Peru.

Gold vermeil pieces are more valuable than gold plated pieces because the base metal is silver and the layer of gold is much thicker, therefore the gold surface should last longer.

Care instructions:

  1. We recommend you keep your Liz Earle Jewellery in a closed box or safely wrapped in a dry place.

  2. Do not leave your Liz Earle Jewellery gold vermeil piece in the bathroom as the moisture does not react well with the Silver base metal.

  3. Make sure you take jewellery off before showering or bathing and take rings off before you wash your hands.

  4. Make sure moisturiser and perfume has dried before putting on your jewellery.

Cleaning:

  1. Luke warm water with a soft toothbrush to keep surfaces clean.

  2. Occasional dipping in Town Talk Silver Sparkle Cleaner will bring the piece back to its original best. Please follow the instructions on the packet.

Following the steps above should prolong the life of your Liz Earle Jewellery.
